The British Library Provides Free Illustrations For All To use

This has been said a few times on other blogs, but there are still some people who don’t know about it.

Recently, The British Library scanned and uploaded over a million vintage illustrations, maps and more to their Flickr account! All of these are totally free to download and use in your own work, both personal and commercial.

Examples of what can be found in this vast collection can be seen below:

Obviously those are just three examples of the million plus illustrations you have at your disposal. There’s no limit to what can be made with all of these.

I personally exclusively used assets found in this collection on a poster.

Hopefully you’ll be able to incorporate these vintage illustrations in your own work. We’d love to see what you get up to!

The full collection of these free assets can be found here.
